About Us
St. Matthew’s Senior Secondary school was founded in 1998 by Dr. Thomas Mathews, a visionary philanthropist and educationist. He had a very strong desire to provide affordable, quality English medium education to all sections of the society. St. Matthew’s School aims to make each and every student a perfect human being not only through the development of their skill and knowledge but also moral and physical growth.
St. Matthew’s School is located in the royal, historic city of Udaipur, Rajasthan, enveloped by the mighty Aravalli hills. The location of the school near the renowned Fateh Sagar lake enhances the beauty of the environment which in turn, adds to the better learning of the students.
St. Matthew’s has developed a strong international dimension to its programmes. The school is part of the Global School Partnership (GSP) of the British Council. Every year teachers and student teams from Europe and USA visit the school to train and interact with our children. Several of our staff have visited schools in England. We work alongside our international colleagues and share best practices from both sides of the world.
The new attractive building has brightly coloured classrooms and wide, open walkways. Outside, there is a basketball court, a big playground and separate lawned play areas for nursery and junior children. Three spacious Science laboratories have been designed and equipped to match with the best in the country. The school has a fully networked and Wi-Fi enabled campus, and computer suite with individual access to internet and email. Additionally, the school has a multi-purpose hall catering for art, craft, music and mathematics
St. Matthew’s academic year begins in the first week of April and ends in March, with a six-week summer break during May and June.
School timings are 7.50 am to 1.40 pm. Winter timings are 8.30 am to 2.10 pm.
